Solar Panels have been installed on roofs in the UK for over 20 years now. In that time, the evolution of birds has led them to identify that nesting under panels is safe and secure for them.
This, however, does not align with the requirements of homeowners and in some cases, the safe operation of the Solar Panels themselves.
Solar Power GB Ltd can offer two solutions to the above problem. The first Solution is prevention.
Installing Bird Guard at the point of installation is by far the most cost-effective and certain way of keeping birds out and ensuring the longevity of your panels. We have multiple solutions available to us to ensure that the solution is as discreet and secure as possible.
Installing Bird Guard at the point of installation will ensure the least amount of disruption to yourself and protect the panels, prolonging any manufacturer’s guarantee on the panels.
All of the solutions that we use to keep birds away are non-intrusive with zero damage making sure that the manufacturers warranties remain intact.
Prevent unnecessary damage with a simple bird guard
The second option is a retrospective installation of Bird Guard. Typically, once birds have begun too nest under the panels problems regarding quality of life and system integrity begin too spiral out of control. The noise, the mess and the overall visual impact of birds nesting on the roof is quite severe, once you factor in the drop in system performance and potential damage to your panels it really is a serious problem.
Adding Bird Guard at this point becomes a bigger project. Scaffolding will typically be required as in most cases we will need to lift panels from their position to remove the birds before we secure the panels again. Once guarded the birds will try to return for a period time, trying their hardest to exploit a weakness in the new protection.
